Sara Griscom - Proprietor

Intuitive Healing & Counseling
Reiki Master Teacher

From her extensive research and experiences with healers around the globe, Sara Griscom, Gypsy Hands proprietor, has created a center where one can receive holistic healing for the body, heart, and spirit. Born in Malaga, Spain, she spent her childhood in Mexico. A gifted intuitive since her youth, Sara received her call to healing in Guatamala from a Mayan shaman in the mid 1990's, while conducting research in Mayan healing and midwivery. She received her B.A. in Anthropology, Spanish, and Psychology from the University of Tennessee (Graduated Summa Cum Laude) and continued her academic education at Tulane University, studying ethnography and linguistics. Research led her first to Mexico, where she studied herbal medicine in the mountains. During the next four years she made a series of trips to Guatamala, where in the process of working with Mayan healers and midwives, she discovered more of her own path as a healer. She continued her midwivery studies at “The Farm” in Summertown, Tennessee, receiving certification as a Midwife Assistant. Sara also studied Reiki (universal light energy healing) prior to attending The Center for Natural Health and Massage in Asheville, N.C. Soon after she journeyed to India, where she conceived her vision for Gypsy Hands Healing Arts Center. The following year, Sara moved to Knoxville, TN and opened Gypsy Hands, where she heals through intensive bodywork (including shiatsu and deep-tissue modalities), intuitive counseling, Reiki Training, and teaching tribal fusion bellydance classes. Many who have been blessed to receive her bodywork find that she heals on all levels of consciousness: emotional, physical, spritual, and energetic. In addition to being called to the healing traditions of Latin America and Mexico, Sara has studied and continues to work with the indigenous Maori healers of New Zealand. Gypsy Hands is graced annually with a visit from the Maori, which includes a weekend's worth of powerful healing sessions and intensive workshops.

Sara Griscom's healing practice expanded to teaching when she received her Reiki Teacher Training certification. After studying under four Reiki Masters, she has developed an incomparable Reiki training program that is individually based and guided to one's own pace. Ultimately, she is preserving the integrity of this sacred tradition by passing it down only to those willing to commit to this practice.

Sara's extraordinary intuition has prompted calls from New York, the West Coast, Switzerland, and even Cambodia, seeking telephone sessions for intuitive counseling. She provides clarity for people in all walks of life -- whether one be in a crisis situation, a transition, or simply searching for a deeper purpose. Sara helps a client return to his or her heart, and in the process rediscover the soul's true path.

Natalie Kurylo, DC

Holistic Chiropractic and CranioSacral Therapy

Born and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York, Dr. Natalie Kurylo moved to Boone, North Carolina to attend college. After graduating from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Dr. Natalie moved around (like a Gypsy) before landing in Indianapolis, Indiana where she began her path to healing. Between working in a natural foods store, where she learned about complementary and alternative health, and experiencing her first chiropractic adjustment, Indianapolis proved to be just the beginning of the journey. Dr. Natalie eventually moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina to attend chiropractic school and was introduced to a chiropractic method of analysis called Bio Geometric Integration (BGI). She practiced chiropractic, utilizing BGI, in Spartanburg for two years after graduating from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic (Magna Cum Laude). Dr. Natalie and her husband, Dr. Timo O'Donnell, whom she met in chiropractic school, moved to Knoxville in 2007. As she expands her understanding of the body and how perfectly it works when there is no interference in it, Dr. Natalie has studied CranioSacral Therapy (CST) with the Upledger Institute and now offers CST sessions by themselves or as a complement to chiropractic care.

Cheryl Cross, DVM, DACVP

Veterinary acupuncture, herbal, and food therapy

Dr. Cheryl Cross was born and raised in Bristol, Tennessee. She graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 1993 and the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Her veterinary career began with working at the provincial veterinary teaching hospital on Prince Edward Island, Canada and culminated with 4 years working for the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Oceans and Human Health Initiative (OHHI) on issues of marine mammal strandings and disease. After experiencing the remarkable benefits of acupuncture on her own health, she began formal studies under the auspices of the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) to offer the same care to her veterinary patients. She subsequently continued on for further training in the field of veterinary herbal medicine and food therapy.

Dr. Cheryl is licensed to practice both acupuncture and conventional veterinary medicine in Tennessee and Virginia. She is perpetually amazed with the way that veterinary acupuncture, herbal, and food therapy work very well both as a complement to conventional veterinary treatment as well as stand-alone healing modalities to maintain and restore health, balance, and quality of life in our beloved animal companions. She offers treatment at Gypsy Hands as well as on a housecall or farm call basis and will happily work with your regular veterinarian to offer well-rounded veterinary care.
